META 2010: New Media Exhibition showcases the thesis works of students graduating from the New Media program of the School of Image Arts at Ryerson University. This annual exhibition was established in 2006 in order to provide graduating New Media students with the opportunity to present their thesis projects to both the Ryerson community and the general public. Throughout their final academic year, New Media students have been working hard in order to execute and complete their thesis projects.
The resulting art works reflect the cumulative knowledge gained during each student’s four years of intensive artistic training in the New Media program. Through META students gain experience exhibiting in the public realm and are afforded an opportunity to engage the world beyond our immediate community at Ryerson University.
From April 8th - 11th at Arta Gallery, student work of the highest caliber will show the public some of the artistic possibilities of recent technological advances and provide visitors with a unique and unforgettable experience.
The works that are to be exhibited in the show are handpicked by a professional panel of jurors and faculty to ensure the most polished and conceptually strong pieces are admitted. This section will be updated soon with the profiles and statements of those pieces that are accepted.
A massive amount of documentation will occur during the show and will be put on display here for all to see. Expect this section to be overflowing with photographs, writing, and video shortly after the conclusion of the exhibition.

Artworks exhibited in META draw on a wide range of mediums - including; game design, data visualization, interactivity, kinetic and sound installation, video, and performance - in order to explore image history, perception, critical issues relating to the social and natural environment, as well as the possibility of establishing rapport with entities of our own making.
META would not have been possible without the generous support from our sponsors and in-kind donations. From all of us involved with the show, thank you for making our exhibition a reality!
